Vibe coding on the go
You start a coding agent or a build on your Mac, then you leave the desk. Gatereach is being designed so you can check in from your iPhone or iPad, from a café, a train or a client’s office, while the Mac keeps working.
Gatereach is in development and not yet available. What you read here describes how we are designing it; details may change before release. Pricing has not been announced.
How a day might go
- At the desk. Start the agent, the build or the dev server on your Mac, at home or in the office. Leave the Mac on.
- Away. Open Gatereach on your iPhone or iPad. Face ID confirms the connection; that is how we are designing it.
- Look in. See what the agent did, read the log, open the diff, check that the dev server is up. It is your own Mac’s screen.
- Step in. Approve a change, redirect the agent with a short note, restart the dev server. Then put the phone away. The Mac carries on.
What it is for
- Seeing progress without walking back to the desk.
- Unblocking an agent that is waiting for your answer.
- Restarting a stuck dev server or build.
- Reading a diff before you approve it. On a phone that is cramped; an iPad or another Mac gives you more room.
What stays the same
Your tools, your repositories and your files stay on your own Mac. Run what you already run: a build in Xcode, a dev server, a coding agent in a terminal.
Gatereach is generic remote access. It does not run, call or connect to any coding tool or AI service; it lets you reach your own Mac.
Limits, honestly
- Gatereach is not released. Everything on this page is design intent.
- The Mac has to be on, with power and a working network connection. If either is down at the Mac, you can’t reach it.
- Reaching a Mac that is locked or asleep.Planned
- It is designed for checking in and light steering, not for a full day of typing on a phone.
- Whether your agent can carry on by itself while you are away, and what it asks you, depends on the tool you run.
Reach your Mac.
