Our story
Michael Elyav, Sharobella, Vienna
The laptop closes.
I run a small agency in Vienna. A lot of my work now happens with coding agents, and some of their runs take hours.
Those runs live on my laptop. I carry it between the office, home and client sites, and every time I close the lid, every run stops.
The office goes dark.
When I’m at a client, the screens in the office are dark and the work sits still.
A Mac that stays.
So I’m getting a powerful Mac Studio to be the always-on machine. It stays in one place and is never carried. The agents run there, whether I’m at my desk or not.
I don’t want to carry a heavy machine around, and I don’t want to buy a second workstation just to be able to work away from the first. It doesn’t have to be a machine like this. A Mac mini, an iMac or a MacBook that stays on and online somewhere works just as well.

Wherever I am.
What I want is to work with it from wherever I am: from my laptop, my phone or my tablet. The Mac Studio is in Vienna, and I might be in the US. I want several screens when I’m on the go, and I want the work to keep going when I’m not sitting at a machine.
Built for people who work like this.
A powerful machine is only useful at one desk if I can’t reach it from anywhere else. That is the whole idea: the heavy machine stays put, and I reach it from whatever I happen to be carrying.
I looked at the tools that already exist. I used or tested a number of them. Each one is either a general-purpose tool for IT, or built for something else. None of them was built for exactly this.
So I’m building Gatereach: first for myself, and then for other people who work the same way. It is built by Sharobella in Vienna.
It is not finished. Everything on this site describes how we are designing it, and details may change. If you work like this too, leave your email, and we’ll write to you when it’s ready.
